Got back from Costa Rica on Sunday. Unfortunately, we had a lot of our stuff stolen (including my cameras) while we were on a beach. Luckily one of the beach bandits dropped my SLR in the bushes when he was running away. While this means I still have most of my photos, almost all of the people pictures that I was taking were on my Powershot, which was stolen. Aside from the robbery though, it was a great trip!
Golden Silk Orb Weaver (Nephila)
These spiders were common in Costa Rica. This image shows a female with one of the many tiny males that share her web. Apparently the females can get 2-3 times bigger and their silk is so strong their webs have been known to catch hummingbirds.
